The Sunrise Cafe (2002, 2003)

Performed at Patrick’s Cabaret, remounted at The Playwrights’ Center

Chosen among City Pages' Best Theatre of the Year 2002

The Sunrise Café, a dance and physical theatre performance, takes place in 1975 among the dusty highways of the American West, where three lives collide at the Sunrise Café while on their way towards an American Dream. A twisted love story that surrounds the audience in a desert landscape of weird sounds, wild hallucinations, and eccentric characters that are strangely familiar…and just plain strange. Imagine Sam Sheppard and David Lynch meeting for links and cakes over the fissures between heaven and hell.
