Ivan the Drunk and His Terrible Tale of Woe (2009)

Performed at Open Eye Figure Theatre, Minneapolis

Lavender Magazine: Best Actor, Best Set, Best Production of 2008

Ivan the Drunk, a physical theatre and dance performance, is a tragic fable about a Russian WWI combat veteran who, at the moment of his death, travels back through his homeland in search of peace and absolution. Accompanying him on his journey is his ridiculous burden. A life-sized dummy stuffed with the metaphoric wreckage of a cruel life. Together the two drink and stumble their way back through time hoping to achieve a final stage of grace.
