Border Crossing, a dance and physical theatre performance, is the story of a resilient little girl who crosses the Arizona/Mexico border, told through the voice of the desert itself. Shaking off intense political and social argument, the show instead focuses on the heightened spirituality of the Sonoran Desert to highlight the drama of human migration over the ages, using dance influenced by prayer and ritual, and puppetry constructed from the flotsam left behind by desperate peoples forced to search for a better life.
